Community Service (i.e., AmeriCorps)
Individuals may be eligible for jobs in community service that can provide income and a post-service
benefit to help finance part of their education.
Dislocated Worker
and WIA Grants
Training funds may be available to help individuals who have lost their jobs.
Dislocated Worker and WIA Grants focus on upgrading current job skills,
retraining workers whose skills are not marketable, and providing support services.
Employer Reimbursement
Your employer may participate in employer-provided educational assistance. Before you register for school, contact your supervisor
or human resources representative to learn more about tuition reimbursement
or other assistance that might be available.
Employment Training Programs
Training programs are available for people with disabilities,
economically disadvantaged / targeted populations, the general public, incumbent
workers, older workers, people receiving public assistance, veterans of the
armed forces, youth, work-related support programs.
Education Vouchers for Former Youth in Care
Federal funds intended to help youth ages 18 to 23 pay for post-secondary education. Vouchers are made available to states through the Chafee Foster Care Independence Act.
Vocational Rehabilitation Services
Educational benefits are available to students with a disability that is considered
a handicap to employment. The amount received is based on individual needs and
program requirements.
